Do you have multiple locations?

No, we have one flagship store and nail spa located in Chicago's Wicker Park.

How long have you been in business?

Mojo Spa was established in 2003, and our flagship store is located in Chicago's Wicker Park since 2007.

Where are all your products made?

All our products are handmade in small batches in Chicago, Illinois.

Do you offer wholesale opportunities?

How can I purchase a Mojo Spa gift certificate?

Gift certificates can be purchased for the nail spa and product in-store or by phone and then mailed or emailed. Please call us at 773.235.6656 (MOJO)

What are your store & nail spa hours?

Retail Store: Monday-Friday 12pm to 8pm | Saturday 10:30am to 8pm | Sunday 10:30am to 6pm

Nail Spa: Closed Mondays | Tuesday-Sunday see retail store hours

Please Note:  Hours may vary during public holidays, private events or for store/nail spa maintenance. 

 

Product Questions

If a product appears SOLD OUT online how can I order it or be notified when it's back in-stock?

If the product is not seasonal, limited edition or discontinued you can pre-order it by emailing us at customerservice@mojospa.com or by placing a phone order at 773.235.6656 (MOJO).  When the product is back in stock we will ship it to you. 

What if I can't find a product online that I purchased or received as a free sample in-store?

We often create limited edition products that are only available for sale in-store for a limited time. Also, a product might be discontinued, seasonal or sold out.  If you can't kind find a product online get in touch with us at customerservice@mojospa.com.

Do you test on animals?

No, we do NOT test on animals.  All our products are cruelty free. 

Are your products vegan friendly?

Many of our products are vegan friendly but NOT all of them. Certain products do contain natural ingredients produced by animals including honey, silk powder and lanolin.  Please refer to the ingredients list on each product. 

What is the typical shelf-life of your products?

The typical shelf-life of our products is one year.  To prolong shelf-life and maintain the potency of ingredients we recommend refrigerating certain products, this is especially helpful for skincare products but not necessary. 

What is the crystal inside your products? 

One of the alternative healing techniques we incorporate in our products is crystal therapy.  It is believed that crystals have the ability to hold and emit energy vibrations to promote energy balance, release stress and pain, and induce relaxation.  We place certain crystals in our products, according to the effect of each type of crystal, along with positive affirmations to tap into the subconscious mind and allow you to manifest desires, attract positivity, and promote healing and energy balance. 

Why do some of your products have positive affirmations?

We strive to take an all-encompassing approach to beauty focusing on the emotional and mental aspects of feeling good, not just looking good. Many of our products contain positive affirmations that you can say and repeat to yourself daily to help tap into the subconscious mind allowing you to manifest desires, attract positivity, and promote healing and energy balance. We believe when you feel good on the inside, you look good on the outside! 

What is sound therapy and how is it used in your products?

One of the alternative healing techniques we incorporate in our products is sound or vibrational therapy.  Sound has been utilized in various cultures for thousands of years as a tool for relaxing and helping heal the body. When you see "energized purified water" in the ingredients list of a product it means the water incorporated has been tuned with vibrations to the earth's balancing frequency to promote healing and energy balance. 

How do I use your cupcake soaps and other crazy shaped soaps?

All our soaps, including our cupcakes soaps, function just like normal soap.  They lather and become smaller in size after repeated use just like other bar soaps.  To use hold soap under warm running water and rub between hands to create a lather.  For larger soaps they can be cut down in size using a sharp kitchen knife. 

Can all your candles be applied to the body?

Yes, all our candles are made with a proprietary soy wax blend that when lit the warm melted oils can be applied to the body.  To use just light the candle and allow it to burn for 15 minutes or until a pool of warm melted oil forms. Extinguish candle then dip fingers into the melted soy wax and massage onto hands, feet, and body for a deep penetrating treatment. 

What’s the difference between your cold process soaps and vegetable glycerin soaps?

We use two different types of soap making methods when making our soaps.  Cold process soap is what is considered the 'old-fashioned' way of making soap.  Vegetable oils such as olive, avocado, coconut, and palm oil are combined with an alkali and water solution, and then cured overtime.  No heat is applied during this process, which helps the soap maintain the integrity of the oils better. The result is a harder bar, more mild scent, and very moisturizing.   

Vegetable glycerin soap is derived from vegetable fat, and uses heat to melt the soap ingredients in order to accelerate saponification.  The result is a softer bar, a stronger more aromatic scent, and is also moisturizing for the skin.  

Why do the same products sometimes vary in color or darken?

Many of our products contain handmade herbal infusions, which can affect the color of the product from batch to batch.  Also, some of our products contain real vanilla, which can darken overtime and affect the color of the product from batch to batch.  

My bath fizz is rock hard, what should I do?

Sometimes bath fizz will harden if exposed to too much humidity in the air. We suggest storing your bath fizz in a cool, dry place. If you received a bath fizz that is rock hard please contact us at customerservice@mojospa.com, and we will gladly send you a replacement.  

 

Skincare Questions

Can I combine products from your different skincare lines?

Yes, you can mix-and-match from our different skincare lines according to your skin type and desired result.  We recommend adjusting your skincare routine according to the season and how your skin is behaving. 

How often should I use a facial mask?

We recommend 1-3 times a week. 

How often should I exfoliate?

We recommend no more than 2-3 times per week with the exception of our Ultimate Detox Facial Powder, which has a recommended usage of 1-2 times per week.  Over exfoliating your skin can cause  dryness, irritation and the removal of healthy skin cells. 

In what order should I apply all my skincare products?

Cleanser/Soap - Scrub/Exfoliator - Mask - Toner - Serum - Moisturizer/Night Cream.  

 

Makeup Questions

How is your makeup different than other makeup lines?

Our makeup products incorporate many skincare benefits.  Many of our facial makeup products contain herbal infusions or finely crushed herbs in order to heal the skin and maintain skin health.   

What is the difference between your Illuminata, Light Twinkle, and Dark Twinkle?

All three products contain the same formula the only difference being the color-adjusting mineral pigments contained in each product.  The Illuminata goes on sheer, the Light Twinkle is ideal for light to medium skin tones, and the Dark Twinkle is ideal for tan to dark skin tones.
